Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I come from a performing background with over 10 years acting experience. I have worked as a producer on various film projects before going on to set up my own production company. I am a trained editor and have also written and produced several short films scripts. Originally from England, after a few years of travelling the world I moved to Ireland where I currently live with my husband, 2 young daughters, 16 chickens, a pet rabbit and a cat named Tilly.
A Strange Affair: An Erotic Tale is my third book and I'm really proud of it. My first book was a paranormal romance novella called Red Right Hand, which I followed up with a contemporary romance novel called The Secret Side of US.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called A Strange Affair. I had wanted to write a workplace romance again for some time. Then one Friday evening after a glass or two of wine, I was looking through a magazine and came across a black and white photo of Chris Hemsworth in prestige. That photo became my inspiration and Aaron Strange was born.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write in the dark at night like a vampire. When I was at college I always studied for exams at night while listening to music and the habit seems to have stuck. I have layers. I have the story in my head so I write it down as quickly as possible. Then the conversations between the characters come to me. Then I write the emotions. Then I go over it all and try to pull all the layers together.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I read so many books a week it's hard for me to chose one book or author as everything I read influences me in some small way. I might read a witty line which reminds me of something else, like a film or painting or something one of my kids said and that may help me come up with a new character. It's all very random.
What are you working on now?
I'm currently working on two different books. I'm two chapters in on a paranormal romance filled with vampires and werewolves. I'm also two chapters in on another erotic romance that is somehow, also turning into a comedy which was unintentional. But I've been told it's very hot and funny.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I rely on Bloggers, Reviewers, adverts, and word of mouth. The writing community are amazing and always happy to help spread the word. I must admit Bloggers are great for me; they really helped get my work out there.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write a little bit every day. Even if it's only two lines. Write every day!
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
“If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot.” -STEPHEN KING
He has been creeping me out with his books since I was a kid. That's a long time! I have to respect what the man says otherwise he may send a clown my way!
What are you reading now?
I've just finished a book which came to me for review and about to start Viking Thunder by Emanuelle De Maupssant
What’s next for you as a writer?
A Strange Affair is the first book in a trilogy so I have that to work on and as I mentioned before I'm currently working on two books. The Paranormal one is the first in a series and I already have that world and story mapped out. Four books are planned for that series so I will be pretty busy for a while.
What is your favorite book of all time?
I've read hundreds of books. I'm a reviewer for Escapologyreviews.com so I get through a lot of books but I will give you my current favourite book. Road Tripped by Nicole Archer. I was sent a copy of this book to review for the website. I remember reading it in bed and laughing out so loud my husband had to come into the room and see what was going on. I loved this book so much. Genuinely bloody hilarious.
