About Ebony Bryant:
My name is Ebony Bryant. I’m the oldest of three children. I am a college student majoring in Early Childhood Education. I also have a diploma in Criminal Justice Technology. I have one son who I love very much. I love writing erotic fiction as much as I love reading them.
What inspires you to write?
Writing started off as a hobby at first. It was just something I would do when I was bored. But as I got older I found myself loving to write. I love sitting down and typing wild stories and trying to imagine how my readers will like it and their expressions as they finish my books. Writing is something I actually love to do. My inspiration is my readers. Knowing that I can self publish what I have to say for the world to see inspires me to write as many books as I can.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write differently from most people. The only thing that I may outline is the characters and their description just in case I may start on another project. I use my character outline to refresh my memory. I sketch out my character before I actually start writing my books. I don’t use no particular software but pencil and paper. I write from the top of my head I don’t have to brainstorm about whats going to happen in my book. My story naturally unfolds as I begin to type it up on my laptop.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yes. I talk to my characters. I write my books according to how I would feel about a particular matter or just how I will respond to a certain situation. I can remember when I wrote Dangerous Encounter and when Monica found out her lover was cheating on her I made sure her character showed the everyday emotion of a brokenhearted woman.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t give up on writing. If writing is something that you love to do then keep doing it. Don’t let anyone discourage you and turn you away from something you love. Work hard and just keep writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Well, I have been writing sense the age of nine. You know the mystery stories and a little horror. But as I matured and started to experience sex my writing totally changed from mystery and horror to romance/erotic. I love to write about things that interest me and sex is a very interesting topic for everyone. I have a wild imagination so writing have always been my strong point. What really made me start self publishing was last year. I had graduated an honor student from my local college majoring in Criminal Justice and was unemployed. I decided to pick up on my writing again because I had pushed it to the side. I was in a relationship with my son’s father at the time and I’m a sexual person so I said why not. What can it hurt to write something erotic and let thousands read.
I wrote Sinful Affair first. Just to see how things would turn out. I loved it from the start. Self Publishing is a wonderful thing for all authors who want to get their work out for people to read and view.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Book publishing is a popular concept as well as self publishing. I admit self publishing is more harder because even though your work is available you still is stuck with trying to get the proper exposure. You are doing everything yourself. But it have its advantages because you wont have to worry about book publishers taking up to six months to even decide if your ideas is what they want to publish. Why let book publishers decide if our ideas are good enough? Self publishing isn’t like this at all.
