Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
I live in the western suburbs of Chicago with my husband and three children. While I was in college I wrote mostly in the thriller genre, but my heart has always lived in Romance. I write BDSM Erotic Romance because it's where my soul lives and breathes. I've always heard to write what you know, and write what you want to read, and both of those are true with BDSM Romance. It's extremely important to me that I show the loving side of BDSM. There are too many misconceptions out there about what BDSM relationships are really like, and I want to show realistic love stories. Because there is a great amount of love and respect that goes into a BDSM relationship.
So far in my career, I've published 5 novels and 1 novella- though more are coming soon!
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
Protecting His Pet is my current release. It's a dark erotic romance with heavy BDSM themes such as humiliation and pet play (which I've always considered part of humiliation). I love reading dark romance, the angsty Hero who refuses to fall for the girl, but of course does anyway. Or in this case, the powerful hero who is trying to save the damsel even if she doesn't understand she needs saving. So thinking along those lines, Protecting His Pet was born.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I don't think so. Pretty typical. I need quiet, a cup of coffee, and my lap top. Other than that I can write pretty much anywhere and any time.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
I was first introduced to dark erotic romance by reading Natasha Knight's Deviant, and I was forever hooked! From there my addiction just grew and grew, then I started reading Jennifer Bene, and there was no hope of returning from the dark side!
What are you working on now?
Right now I am working on a full length novel that spins off from a novella I have coming out with a bunch of awesome writers in Feb, Black Light Valentine Roulette. It's a BDSM Club book that revolves around two characters that meet at the Roulette game and almost hit it off perfectly. Black Light is an exclusive BDSM Club in the heart of Washington DC that caters to those that need to keep their membership completely safeguarded from society. For this one, I'm playing with a bratty sub who doesn't quiet understand why she isn't getting what she wants out of her relationships. But the stern Dominant that she meets is more than willing to show her the errors of her ways.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I'm still playing around with promoting, so I don't have a good answer for this one yet.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Keep writing. No matter what, just keep writing.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Write what you want to read.
What are you reading now?
I just finished The Dark Forest: A collection of Erotic Fairy-tales. Goldilocks and the three bears is my favorite of that anthology- such devilish bears!
What’s next for you as a writer?
Keep writing mostly. Though I am starting to consider public speaking. I've always had a knack for it, and I think it might be time for the mainstream publishing world to hear more about romance writing, in particular erotic romance writing.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Well, this is an impossible question. If you had a gun to my head, I'm not sure I could answer this…. but I will say I have read Deviant as well as Captive, Mine by Natasha Knight several times each, and own them on audio so I can listen to them during my morning walks.
