Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written.
Hi, I’m Stephanie Brother and I’ve written nearly a hundred books featuring sexy stepbrothers and their wild escapades.
What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?
My latest book is called Arrested. It features a girl who finds herself in a sticky situation with her ex-boyfriend who threatens to release sex-photos of her. There is a lot of new legislation and people are going through the courts to deal with this. I wanted to highlight what a stressful thing this is to deal with. How the release of pictures can be used as a form of blackmail and coercive control, and the devastating impact it can have on a persons life.
I also really wanted to write a sexy cop character! Cory has been popping into my mind for quite a while. He’s a good cop with a difficult kink almost runs contrary to how he is in his professional life.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
I write anywhere I can. My laptop is always with me.
What authors, or books have influenced you?
There are too many to mention specifically, and I don’t get enough time to read these days. I read a mix of indie authors and trad. published to keep an eye on the trends in both. I love any romance where the ‘feelings’ and ‘characters’ have a realness to them.
What are you working on now?
I always have a few projects on the go. It helps, because if I ever get stuck on one, I can tackle something else.
I will say that my HUGE series will be getting some more attention. HUGE X2 reached number 14 in the amazon bestseller lists which was really exciting.
What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?
I do a mix of different kinds of advertising and reader engagement. I have a large mailing list and a great street team who read and review.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Write to market and keep on trying. It can take a while to find your voice and spot the trends.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
A good cover is worth the investment.
What are you reading now?
I’m reading some menage books. There is a real skill in getting multiple partners to fall into realistic love. I’m looking at how others manage!
What’s next for you as a writer?
More writing. I just can’t stop.
What is your favorite book of all time?
It’s impossible to name just one!
