Tell us about yourself and your books.:
I am a young author who began my writing career at only nineteen years old. I am now twenty two years old and have had four books published. I live in a small town and am attending college, majoring in art education. In my free time, I enjoy singing, dancing, painting, and studying foreign languages. My latest book, The Gifts of Christmas, is a cozy romance mystery, and is included in the Books To Go Now Christmas Mystery Anthology.
Do you have any unusual writing habits?
Yes, I always write down my stories on paper before typing them up on the computer. I know it's a bit outdated, but I really enjoy writing things down first.
What authors have influenced you?
Stephenie Meyer, Ellen Schreiber, and Maggie Steifvater. I really love the plot-lines of their story and the amount of detail used in their works.
Do you have any advice for new authors?
Yes, just follow your heart and write what makes you happy, rather than what you think others will like.
What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Follow your passions and do what makes you happy, rather than what's logical. At the end of the day, you'll be much more satisfied with your decisions.
What are you reading now?
I'm reading Royal Blood, which is the 6th book in Ellen Schreiber's Vampire Kisses series.
What’s your biggest weakness?
Taking criticism to heart and feeling badly about myself because someone doesn't like my work.
What is your favorite book of all time?
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I feel like I can really relate to Bella and I love the amount of detail used in the story.
What has inspired you and your writing style?
Writers with a darker style and paranormal romance authors such as Neil Gaiman, Stephenie Meyer, Maggie Steifvater, and Ellen Schreiber, have really inspired me as I've always enjoyed writing with a darker style.
What are you working on now?
I'm working on a YA romance called Homeless, which will follow high school student, Chris Wells, as he makes friends, falls in love, and just tries to survive.
What is your method for promoting your work?
I go to as many websites as possible and promote my books, but I don't have a certain method for this.
What’s next for you as a writer?
I will continue to write as many books as possible, mainly staying in the romance genre.
How well do you work under pressure?
I don't work well under pressure and often panic when forced to work under pressure.
How do you decide what tone to use with a particular piece of writing?
I just go with what feels right in my heart, and that usually works out best for my writing.
