We all have a place in our youth where deeds and words linger even though we do not. Vince is a guy with the world in his pocket until a day at Duck’s Misery sends him colliding with his past. Let Vince take you along on his journey … someday you may find yourself making a similar one of your own.
Feelin’ nostalgic? Did you come of age during the 90s? Want a taste of life growing up in Midwest, USA? “Duck’s Misery” is the first of five, stand-alone, short stories that complete the collective title “Caution, Girl Up Ahead.”
I grew up in Midwest, America and my travels have led me halfway around the world, and then some–the grass is only as green as you make it, is fact. Not only do I not believe in traveling the same path twice, I rarely do the same thing twice–mundanity not included–life is short and I want to rack up as many eternal moments as I can before I check out. Chad Gray’s snarled creed “get busy living … or get busy dying”–one of hundreds of musings embedded in my brain–never leaves me in idle for too long. My first love was a ’70 Chevelle SS 454, and I’m always on the lookout for an Ella.
