James, scion of the wealthy Stuart family of San Antonio, met and fell hard for the warm and funny Julie Neal. But on the day they married, warm and funny Julie became the proverbial ice princess, a cold shell of a woman more than willing to warm his bed but in the daytime wanting nothing to do with him but his wealth.
After 3 years of this loveless marriage, after living apart more than they live together, James has had enough and files for divorce.
Then Julie is involved in a minor accident leaving her with a mild concussion and no memory of her husband or her marriage. With such selective amnesia, it is clear her loss of memory is psychosomatic. James, called to her bedside, finds to his shock the delightful girl he’d once courted, the cold woman he married nowhere in sight.
He is immediately suspicious and Julie is completely baffled by his attitude toward her. Not remembering her marriage, she only knows herself as she is now and it’s not who or what this man is accusing her of being.
But James knows things he’s not telling her, and it is Mac, manager of a Stuart ranch holding, who hires Julie as a ranch cook, determined to find out who the real Julie is. That’s if he can keep his hands off her – and if she can keep her hands off him. Because the attraction between them is in constant sizzle and all too ready to become an explosive conflagration.
And if Julie gets her memory back, everybody stands to lose.

I’ve worn many hats in my professional life: teacher, K through community college and including adult ed.; small business owner (book store); seasonal park ranger with the National Park Service (Bent’s Old Fort in southeastern Colorado and Fort Davis National Historic Site in Far West Texas); Peace Corps Volunteer, twice (the Philippines and Armenia); and countless small filler jobs. All of these various employments have/had different goals: as a single mom, to keep food on the table and clothes on the backs of my 3 children; as a lover of far off places, to see some of the world and enjoy its people up close and personal; as a lover of history, to live it, however vicariously; as a lover of knowledge, to hopefully pass on the joy of it to others.
And through all of this, I’ve been writing: essays, short stories, novels. The novels and short stories are in long gone publications, but you can still find my novels on Amazon.
