There was never any doubt they could love each other.
Two such opposites: Gideon, a popular British rocker; and Sabrina, a quiet introspective poet. In the throes of personal tragedy, Gideon has come to the Texas coast seeking the privacy to grieve. Sabrina has come home to the Texas coast searching for the personal validation taken from her in a tumultuous marriage. Here, on a desolate coastal ranch, Gideon finds the peace he craves in Sabrina, and Sabrina finds the acceptance she searches for in Gideon. Inevitably, they become lovers, their liaison deeply emotional, passionate, and intense.
But … no commitment, they agree. No promises. No tomorrows. When the outside world intrudes, the affair ends, and they go their separate ways.
Still, love has a way of finding a way. That is, until Gideon learns that who he now wants most in the world can only be had with what he wants least, and Sabrina finds that what she wants most to share with this man is rejected.

I’ve worn many hats in my professional life: teacher, K through community college and including adult ed.; small business owner (book store); seasonal park ranger with the National Park Service (Bent’s Old Fort in southeastern Colorado and Fort Davis National Historic Site in Far West Texas); Peace Corps Volunteer, twice (the Philippines and Armenia); and countless small filler jobs. All of these various employments have/had different goals: as a single mom, to keep food on the table and clothes on the backs of my 3 children; as a lover of far off places, to see some of the world and enjoy its people up close and personal; as a lover of history, to live it, however vicariously; as a lover of knowledge, to hopefully pass on the joy of it to others.
I am also a writer: Essays, short stories, novels. Once, I even wrote letters. Sigh. Actually, it was the letter writing that led me into the rest of it over the years. My essays and short stories appeared in long ago publications, but you can find my romance novels on Amazon and information about them on my website.
